The walls, the floor, the cabinetry and the benchtops all bear the brunt of hard work and high traffic. The materials in the kitchens shown were selected to match the conditions of their environment...then we moved on to consider the colour, pattern, style and texture.

In each case finishes were selected in a style that suited the house and its occupants.
