The bedroom is where the first and last moments of the day are spent - the room should be comfortable and calm - a place of rest and private retreat after a busy day. It is a place where fabrics can convey a sense of comfort, warmth and intimacy.

The bed is the natural focal point of the bedroom, but one which can be overly dominant without clever use of soft furnishings. In most bedrooms, the bed occupies a considerable amount of floor area, so it is important to break up the expanse visually, using cushions, throws, quality bed linen and blankets.
